Shinji
Ikari: Shinji is the protagonist of this story, and one of the
Evangelion pilots. His mother died while he was young, and his
father abandoned him. At the beginning of the series he is called
by his father to come to NERV (view Organizations section) headquarters.
Gendo Ikari: Shinji's father. He works as the head of NERV.
Misato Katsuragi: Works at NERV as a general and becomes Shinji's
guardian.
Rei Ayanami: Rei is one of the more unusual characters in this
story...as to not give away too much about her, it will only be said
that she is one of the Evangelion pilots, and goes to Shinji's school.
Soryu Asuka Langley (Asuka): Asuka is an Evangelion pilot, and
moves into Misato and Shinji's apartment.
Ritsuko Akagi: Scientist at NERV
Please note that these are by far not all of the characters, but this
